What Your Hair Color Says About You!

Natural or colored, your hair shade affects how the world sees you... and how you see yourself.

Alot of our self-image is based on the perceptions of other people. You partially view yourself through others' eyes and act accordingly.

That's why the color of our hair tends to stereotype us.
Here's the deal of what that means for all you redheads, blondes and brunettes. We've also got tips on how to keep your hair looking shiny and gorgeous, whatever the color.

Red Hair
There are very few natural redheads - only 3 perfect of the population is said to have fiery locks. For centuries, redheads have had to fight stereotypes. For many, red hair atop a female head automatically conjured images of wild women, hotheads, femme fatales, sexpots.

Redheaded women are often portrayed as strong, independant women. They are usually seen as feisty Irish "tough girls".

"Red is the new blond," says Tim Rogers, editorial stylist and spokesman for Charles Worthington hair and beauty salons in London. "She is a head-turning hybrid between the moody brunette and the bubbly blonde. She's not afraid to have fun and get noticed."

Red hair compliments brown which seems to be the color in fashion this season. Brown hair with brown fashion can look dull, while red adds more depth and contrast. Red hair also seems to have more shine, which can make your hair look more healthy and beautiful.

Blonde Hair
Do blondes really have more fun? Maybe. Blonde is a happy color that reminds us of sunny days at the beach.

People see blondes as having more youthful vitality than other colors, and blonde hair can make you look younger. There's a subtle correlation between youth and blondness, since babies and children tend to have lighter hair than adults.

Do we still think blondes are dumb? Many people say we don't anymore. The Dumb-Blonde jokes are old. Modern blondes are perceived as powerful, independent and of course, still very sexy.

Blonde hair tends to require alot of attention to keep it looking glamorous and healthy, so blondes can give off the impression of high maintenance.

Brown Hair/Brunettes
Brunettes project a grounded, stable image. Darker colors also connote earthiness. If you are wanting a more serious, sophisticated look, try a darken brunette hair color.

76 percent of American women think the first female president will have brown hair, according to Allure magazine.

According to a study into hair colour and the intensity of attraction, 51% of men thought brunettes were more attractive. Brunettes were described as intelligent

Hair Color And Makeup

Foundation application is very simple but is misunderstood by even some professional makeup artists.

Match the foundation to your chin and neckline.  If you miss this step, you and the camera will see a sudden change of color from your face to the neck or upper chest.

Some makeup artists even apply makeup to the neck and shoulders! Why you ask? To match the body to the face. You will have no need to apply makeup to your body (except to hide blemishes) if you follow the suggestion of matching your makeup from the face to the neck.

When you have completed applying your foundation, just apply the rest of your facial makeup as you would normally but apply in heavier amounts for the camera and lights. Great Makeup advice is on ORLANDOMAKEUP.COM

Powder

I'm sure you've seen makeup artists apply makeup to actors to get them ready for a TV show or the movies. If you have you must have noticed that the makeup artist is constantly patting the actors face with a powder applicator. Have you wondered why?

The reason is that powder, and lots of it, is nescessary to create that beautiful matte finish which is always present in a great portfolio. "But I never use powder." you may say. Even so, please use it for your model photo shoot.  Powder makes the difference between a beautiful photo and just a photo.

When applying powder, use a lighter shade under the eyes to help eliminate any shadows or dark circles that the concealer didn't take care of.

With summer gone let’s say goodbye to colorful bikinis, light, very natural looking make-up with shining cheeks or no make-up at all.

Since each season dictates its rules and fashion trends, it is high time we obeyed the fashion rules of fall/winter 2009/2010 not only in terms of clothing but also in terms of make-up. We don’t wear make-up as a disguise to conceal our face, but as a way to accentuate the beauty and nuances of our beautiful face in the proper way.

It’s time to buy some new high-quality cosmetics and start experimenting until you find out which is the best for your facial features, such as the shape of your eyes.

The color-scheme of cosmetics makeup fall/winter 2009/2010 is full of contrasts. Surprising it seems that both smokey eyes and naked eyes are equally in fashion. Those who wish to achieve the smokey eyes effect would better wear light lipstick ranging from light pink and slightly violet to a skin-fitting-hue or almost pale.

Also bear in mind that the shining cheeks that were so much in fashion in spring/summer 2009 have been replaced by matte finish cheeks. Remember that if you have chosen natural-looking eyes or the effect of naked eyes, red lips would convey a final touch to your look, making it both classic and feminine.

Eye shadows in rosy gold shades are also in fashion.

Lip Color

In order for your lips to stand out and be noticed, be sure that your lip gloss is a solid color and at least one shade deeper than you normally wear it.

Your lip liner should be the same color as your lipstick.

Stay away from any frosted lip colors entirely because they hardly show up on film and will give the illusion that you are not wearing lip color at all. The only time you would wear frosted is when it's for some effect the photographer wants to accomplish.

Blush

Apply your blush a little heavier than normal but neatly and precisely. Don't over or under apply blush. This will also be in accordance to the effect you or your photographer want to accomplish with your look for this particular model shoot.

Eye Makeup

In order to produce the best results, your eye liner needs to be applied starting from the outside of the lower part of the eye and extending about 3/4 length toward the inner part.

Really work on those eyes and lips. These are the two key features in a model photo shoot as with just about any other people photography so get this right!

You'll need to use an eye shadow to compliment the rest of your makeup and clothing but use a light shade so that your eyes will appear more alive.

Start by applying your eye shadow to the upper eye lid and above the eye just below the eyebrow.

The reason you'll want this a light shade is because a darker shade will create an illusion of darkening of the eyes and will give the appearance that you did not get enough sleep the night before which is not going to be very flattering to you. Stay with a light eye shadow to be sure and create the best results for your eyes. If done right, the person looking at your photos will be drawn in directly to your eyes first which is what you normally want to achieve.
